Transfer Rumour Mill *UPDATE* (17th Jan)

Darren Pratley - Swansea

Out of contract at the end of the season. It  is rumoured we've made an enquiry regarding his availability in this window and that he wants to come to Leeds. Would be a solid signing, box to box midfielder who can score goals and someone who'd definitely add something to our team as well as going some way to derailing the Swans promotion push as he is key to their squad. I've already cited Brendan Rodgers admitting they could be forced to sell in this window and if we test them with a decent offer, there's no doubt they'll have to seriously consider it rather than letting him go at the end of the season for nothing. It is possible that a deal will be struck using Bradley Johnson as a straight swap-deal or make-weight. If Johnson is to leave the club then this deal would be an ideal swap. But if there is a way we can keep Bradley and still add Pratley that would be desirable as Johnson is finding good form.

With us being a promotion rival however, its probably unlikely such a deal would come off unless Johnson went the other way, and Rodgers considered Johnson a viable replacement (as well as Simon considering Pratley an upgrade).

Leigh Bromby to QPR on loan

It won't happen no matter how much his old manager Warnock wants it to (rumoured of course), having worked with Leigh at Sheffield Utd. Massive rival won't get a competent defender from us to aid their cause.

QPR end Woodgate interest

Warnock has decided Woodgate would be off the pace for Championship football. I still feel if the deal happens for us on the cheap (could happen as Redknapp desperately wants to send him out to get match fitness) it could be a low-risk addition of quality as there wouldn't be so much financial risk - should we require it, with Bruce's current renaissance.

QPR and Norwich chase Michael Brown

Would be a frustrating signing for one of our strongest rivals to sign him, he's undoubted quality and Portsmouth have missed him. I wouldn't want us to sign him in particular as there are younger and equally as talented options out there (think Michael Johnson - who is the player I most want us to bring in after rave reviews from City fans commenting on his latest reserves outing and the fact he's fitter and leaner than when most last saw him).

Keith Southern from Blackpool

Not heard too much from the press regards this possible deal, but a promotion winning (apparently key for Blackpool last season) centre-mid, so has been linked.

Stuart Parnaby from Birmingham

I'm assuming the deal will be on loan view to free transfer, unless Birmingham will accept a nominal fee for us to sign him permanently now, as his contract is up this summer. He'd provide solid competition for the right back spot, as currently we're short - Hughes and Crowe are probably not upto this level's defensive requirements and Simon obviously doesn't rate Bromby in that position either.

Leeds Chase Fullback Parnaby
